“Pilates is not a series of exercises. Pilates is a concept” - Eve Gentry, first generation Pilates teacher.

Pilates treats the body as a whole, building strength, improving joint mobility, flexibility, coordination and balance. Pilates equipment uses spring-based resistance to create muscle strength and tone without building bulk. The focus on alignment, correcting muscular imbalance, and core stabilization can improve performance in all activities. Pilates can be adapted to any age or fitness level. It is gentle enough for rehabilitation, yet challenging enough for the strongest of athletes. Everyone can benefit from Pilates.

Joseph Pilates famously said physical fitness is being able to perform your daily activities spontaneously with pleasure and zest. Take a moment to think about what it is you love doing. How does your body feel in that activity? After that activity?

Do Pilates consistently and your body will feel fantastic.

At Rachael Bridgens Pilates we stay true to the framework of the classical Pilates method while exploring variations and choreography adapted for the body actually in front of us.
